The “practice” of recovery is a changing and evolving one… just like you!
After 12 years of being on a recovery journey, I understand what it’s like to recover. Scary, confusing, overwhelming, uncomfortable…exciting, joyous, peaceful and alive! We don’t always get the time and space in our day-to-day to devote to our recovery and healing. As a recovering woman and a creator of dozens of recovery circles, retreats and events for over the past eight years, I’ve experienced and witnessed how time in nature, and in-person connection sparks healing, change and magic. And it happens in a very short period of time which is why a retreat can be so transformational. Hitting the pause button and reconnecting to your recovery is a gift to yourself. Stepping into new spaces and experiences that will strengthen and nourish you as you grow is what expanding BEYOND recovery is truly about.

“10 stars if I could!”
An absolutely amazing experience all the way around. Payton is the most loving, kind and gentle person. Which makes her a fantastic coach and leader for a retreat. From the time I signed up until departure I always knew the plan and felt cared for. LOCATION was out of this world! Highly recommend doing a retreat with EBR!

This is both an opportunity to learn about new tools and practices AND to deepen your current experience with different embodied recovery modalities. We offer inclusive and trauma-informed practices which honour the principles of safety, trust, choice, collaboration and empowerment. All sessions and activities are optional and each woman is encouraged to participate in the way that feels most supportive to their recovery and healing!

Will it be too intense or overwhelming for my stage of recovery? The magic of a recovery retreat is anchored in the fact that everyone comes with different experiences and may be in different stages of recovery. We all have something to offer each other, regardless of whether you are beginning your journey or have 20 years of recovery, and the learning goes both ways! You will be fully supported and encouraged to engage and learn at your capacity. A retreat is an amazing opportunity to practice self-trust and to have the guidance and support you need as you make decisions.

“This was the experience of a lifetime!”
The itinerary and venue for this retreat were top notch. Payton organized excursions that allowed us to engage more with the natural environment and the Costa Rican culture. We had opportunities for adventure, social connection, and rest. I highly recommend it!

“Payton’s retreats meet me where I am at and give me all I need to walk through the next phase of my life.”
OMG. I don't know if there are enough or the right words to describe my retreat experience. Payton really knows how to create and facilitate a retreat. This felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity. Here's a bit of what I experienced: A safe space to be authentically me; Opportunity to relax or socialize as I saw fit for my energy levels; The gift of meeting, connecting, and creating a sisterhood with those on a similar path and also intriguingly different (we all have our own gifts); Beautiful scenery and conversations; A life changing excursion. Not only did I get to see a beautiful rainforest, I was able to push myself outside of my comfort zone. I cannot wait for the next retreat!
